Stacking rack comes in many shapes, and configurations. Assemble it when you
need it. Tear it down when you don't.
Stacking rack adds flexibility to your storage space by allowing your
to configure and reconfigure your floor space based on the requirements of your
business.
You can stack some types of rack 4 to 6 bays high.
Some racks hold up to 4000 pounds.
|
| How does standard stacking rack work?
|
Stacking rack comes in self-contained modular units. It comes in a variety of styles
to accommodate differently shaped and crushable products.
Add castors to move the rack or stack multiple racks as you require.
|
|
Constructed of steel tubing,
basic stacking rack consists of a base and posts.
Depending on your product you can add decking, castors, and side or end frames.
You can cross tubing on the top of the rack to divide the space into sections.
|
You can add posts to a standard pallet or place the pallet on a rack base.
Move the rack with fork trucks or pallet jacks.
Or use castors to roll products from one area to another.
|
|
To store unused rack remove the posts.
Place the posts on the base and stack the bases together.

|
Among many variations of standard stacking rack, you can choose a stacking U rack.
|
|
|
|
|
Stacking U rack holds long unwieldy materials such as pipe, lumber, and metal bars.
Easily assembled by one person, this rack can also be stacked up to 4 levels.
Adjust the spacing of the U units to the distance you need.

What must I consider as I plan for standard stacking rack?
|
The diagram below show the basic pieces of standard stacking rack.
Use the following questions to help you plan.
- What kind of decking do you need?
- How high do you want to stack loads?
- Are your loads of odd size or shape?
- What are the dimensions of your product?
- What is the weight of the load per pallet position?
- Do you need sides on the rack to contain your product?
- Do you need to pick from all 4 sides of the rack or just 2?
- Do your product loads vary in height? (Consider several sizes of posts.)
- Do you need decking to keep the stock from falling through the rack or will you
stack only full pallet loads?
